Good jobs for 14 year olds are hard to find, especially now that the economy is down. When you are 14, you can't work at a lot of places and you may need to get a work permit and/or a note from your parents saying that you are allowed to work.
First of all, you will not be able to work anywhere around an assembly line or other machinery that can be dangerous. If you think a job looks like it might be dangerous then you are probably not allowed to have that job.
You are also not allowed to work any job that can be considered hazardous. This would be jobs like mining jobs or jobs that have anything to do with chemicals. Again, if it looks like youi can be hurt or harmed in any way, you will not get hired.
The reason you are not allowed to do many jobs is because adults want ot make sure younger children are kept safe. Also, being a child, you may not fully understand why or how a job can be dangerous so society has made the decision for you and restricted the types of jobs you can get.
There are places though, that have jobs for 14 year olds. You might try to get a job as a life guard, a camp counselor, bagging groceries, or a caddy at a golf course. You might try going around town and stopping into places that you might want to work and ask whether they hire young teens. Don't get discouraged if they say no as many of them won't.
If you can find a job with some company, you might want to start your own mini business. Maybe you can start a lawnmowing business, a babysitting business, a car washing business or something like that. At 14, you may have to make your own job until you get older and have a better chance of being employed.
